Summary
AppIdeas evaluates mobile app ideas using App Store metadata, search suggestions, and optional AI commentary. Evaluation history is stored locally on your device unless you choose to submit a report.
Data Stored Locally
AppIdeas stores submitted app ideas, evaluation status, opportunity scores, competitor metadata, AI commentary, adjacent suggestions, and timestamps in an on-device JSON file named app-idea-evaluations.json.
Data Sent During Evaluation
When you submit a prompt, AppIdeas may send data to these services:
- Apple iTunes Search API: the app idea/search term, country, and software search parameters to retrieve App Store competitor metadata.
- Poulantir
/api/searchgateway: a derived suggestion query used to fetch adjacent app-idea suggestions from SearxNG. - Poulantir
/api/llm/chatgateway: the app idea, graph opportunity score, and compact competitor summary used to generate commentary through the AWS LLM service. - AWS Bedrock: the backend LLM service sends the compact prompt to Amazon Bedrock for model inference.

/api/reportgateway: only if you submit a report, the report payload may include the query, answer, sources, reason, and optional contact email.
European Processing and No Model Training
The EC2 backend servers used for AppIdeas and the AWS Bedrock model/provider processing used by the LLM service are configured in Europe. The current AWS Bedrock default region for the LLM service is eu-west-3 Europe (Paris).
Submitted prompt and result data is not used for model training.
Third-Party Provider Boundaries
AppIdeas does not call AWS Bedrock, Slack, or internal Docker service ports directly from iOS. The app calls public gateway routes, and the backend services own their provider credentials and provider calls.
Reports and Contact
Reports are sent only when you explicitly submit the report form. If you include an email address, it is used only to follow up about that report.
Security
Backend provider credentials are not stored in the iOS app. They are kept in backend deployment secrets or environment configuration.
Changes
If this Privacy Policy version changes, AppIdeas may ask you to accept the updated version before submitting another prompt.
