Ancient Life Coach (“we,” “our,” or “the app”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

Our Privacy-First Approach
We have designed Ancient Life Coach with privacy as a core principle:
– Conversations are stored locally on your device using SQLite database
– We do not access, read, or use your conversations for training, analytics, advertising, or any purpose other than providing the app’s functionality to you
– No conversation data is transmitted to our servers – all conversations remain private on your device
– Explicit consent is required before any data is sent to AI services
Information We Collect
1. Authentication Information
Ancient Life Coach uses anonymous authentication through Firebase Authentication. We collect:
– Unique anonymous user identifier generated by Firebase Authentication
This information is used solely to identify your app session and is not linked to any personal information such as email, name, or phone number.
2. Conversation Data (Stored Locally Only)
All conversations with your AI coach are:
– Stored exclusively on your device in a SQLite database
– Never transmitted to our servers
– Never used for analytics, training, or any other purpose
– Completely private and under your control
You can delete your conversations at any time through the app settings, and they will be permanently removed from your device.
3. AI Processing Data (With Your Consent)
Before any AI processing occurs, we explicitly request your consent.
When you grant consent and send a message to your AI coach:
– Your message, goals, and necessary conversation context are sent to our server and then to Google Cloud’s Vertex AI (Gemini API) for processing
– The AI service generates a response based on your input
– Your conversation is processed through a region-specific server based on your device settings (see Regional Data Processing below)
– We do not store your messages, goals, or conversation context on our servers
Important: We only send your current message, goals, and minimal conversation context to the AI service for processing. This data is transmitted through our server to Google’s Vertex AI but is never stored on our servers. Your full conversation history remains private on your device.
4. Usage Analytics (Minimal)
We collect minimal usage data through Firebase Crashlytics:
– App crashes and errors to improve stability
– Device type and operating system version for compatibility
– General app performance metrics
We do NOT collect:
– The content of your conversations
– Your personal thoughts or questions
– Your usage patterns or habits
5. Message Quota Tracking
For free users, we track:
– Number of messages sent per quota period (stored in Firebase Firestore)
– Quota reset timestamps
This data is used solely to enforce message limits for non-premium users and is automatically reset according to the quota period configured in the app.
Regional Data Processing
Ancient Life Coach respects your privacy by processing AI requests in a region close to you:
– For users in Europe: AI processing occurs in the Europe (eu-west1) region via Google Cloud’s European data centers
– For all other users: AI processing occurs in the United States (us-central1) region
The selected region is:
– Automatically determined based on your device’s regional settings
– Displayed transparently in the app’s Settings screen
– Shown in the AI consent modal before you grant permission
This approach ensures:
– Faster response times
– Compliance with regional data protection regulations (such as GDPR in Europe)
– Transparency about where your data is processed
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information exclusively for:
1. Authentication: To identify your app session anonymously
2. AI Coaching: To process your messages and generate thoughtful responses (only with your explicit consent)
3. App Improvement: To fix bugs and improve app stability through crash reports
4. Quota Management: To enforce message limits for free users
We do NOT use your information for:
– Advertising or marketing
– Selling or sharing with third parties
– AI training or model improvement
– Analytics about your personal conversations or topics

Important: When using Google’s Vertex AI through Firebase, your data is subject to Google Cloud’s enterprise-grade privacy and security standards, which include:
– No use of your data for Google’s model training
– Compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations
– Industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest

Local Storage (On-Device)
– Conversations: Stored in SQLite database on your device
– User preferences: Stored locally in app settings
– Cache: Temporary data cached for performance
Cloud Storage (Firebase)

– Message quota counts: Stored in Firebase Firestore (counts only, not content)
– User settings sync: Minimal settings data for cross-device sync
All data transmitted to Firebase and Google Cloud is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS/SSL protocols.

Data Portability
Your conversations are stored locally on your device. While we don’t currently provide an export feature, your data is never locked on our servers.
Children’s Privacy
Ancient Life Coach is rated 17+ on the App Store and is not intended for users under the age of 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 17. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us to have it removed.
Note: Apple’s age rating system was updated in 2025. Apps rated 17+ may display as 16+ or 18+ depending on your region and device operating system version.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of significant changes through:

Data Retention
– Authentication data: Retained until you delete your account
– Message quota data: Automatically reset according to quota periods; old data may be cleaned up periodically
