Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Poulantir (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Poulantir mobile application.
Poulantir is designed with privacy in mind. No account is required. Your search history and workspaces are stored locally on your device. We do not sell your data.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Search Queries
When you submit a search query, the query is sent to our backend services so Poulantir can retrieve web results and generate AI-powered answers. Query text is processed to provide the service. To comply with legal obligations, server-side query text may be retained for up to 9 months from the date of submission. After that period, it is automatically deleted.
1.2 Local Data Stored on Your Device
The following data may be stored locally on your device using Apple frameworks such as SwiftData and UserDefaults:
- Search history and past results
- Saved workspaces or documents
- Search suggestions
- App preferences, including theme, language, environment, and selected AI model
- Terms acceptance status
This local data stays on your device unless you choose to share it or submit it through an app feature.
1.3 Report Submissions
If you report a result, the report may include your query, an answer preview, selected sources, and the reason you selected. Reports are used to review and improve result quality.
1.4 Device Information and Analytics
We do not collect advertising identifiers, sell analytics data, or profile you for advertising. Basic technical information may be processed as necessary to operate, secure, and debug the service.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide search results and AI-generated answers
- Display and maintain local search history and workspaces
- Remember app preferences
- Improve result quality through optional user reports
- Operate, secure, debug, and maintain the service
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
3. Hosting, AWS Regions, and Third-Party Services
Poulantir’s backend infrastructure is hosted on Amazon services located in France. The main application server runs on an Amazon EC2 VPS located in Paris, France.
For AI features, Poulantir uses AI endpoints located in France when available. If the selected AI model or service is not available in France, processing is performed in an AWS region located in Europe, such as Ireland, Frankfurt, or Stockholm. Our goal is to keep backend and AI processing in France or within the European Union / European Economic Area when the service allows it.
Poulantir may use the following third-party services to provide search and AI answer generation:

These providers process information according to their own privacy policies and terms. We use them only as needed to provide the app’s search and answer features.
4. Data Retention
- Search queries on servers: Retained for up to 9 months to comply with legal obligations, then automatically deleted.
- Local device data: Retained until you delete it in the App, clear history where available, or uninstall the App.
- Report submissions: Retained as needed for quality review and service improvement.
5. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, delete, correct, or object to certain processing of your personal information. You can delete local app data by clearing relevant app history where available or uninstalling the App.

6. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
7. Children’s Privacy
Poulantir is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are significant, we will provide notice through the App or another appropriate method.
