ASO4Indie (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is an AI-powered app idea validator designed for indie developers. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.

Your privacy matters to us. We’ve designed ASO4Indie to minimize data collection while providing powerful market analysis features.

Information We Collect

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

All of the following data is stored exclusively on your device using local SQLite storage. We do not have access to this data, and it is never transmitted to our servers:

App Ideas: The ideas you submit for analysis, including titles, descriptions, and your original input text
Conversation History: Your chat interactions with the AI assistant
Market Analysis Results: Scores, trends, competitor data, and AI-generated insights
Favorites: Ideas you’ve marked as favorites
Preferences: Your app settings and theme preferences
AI Consent Status: Whether you’ve granted consent to use AI services, and when
Usage Quota: The number of analyses you’ve used

Data We Do NOT Collect

Personal identification information (no account required)
Location data
Device identifiers or fingerprints
Usage analytics or behavioral tracking
Advertising identifiers
Contact information from your device

How Your App Ideas Are Processed

When you submit an app idea for analysis, here’s what happens:

Your idea is reformulated: Our AI assistant processes your input and creates optimized search queries to research the market
External APIs are queried: These reformulated queries (not your raw input) are sent to third-party services to gather market data
Results are returned: Analysis results are sent back to your device
Data is stored locally: All results are saved only on your device

Important: Your ideas are transformed before being sent externally

Your original app idea text is processed by AI to generate search keywords and market research queries. These reformulated queries—not your verbatim input—are what gets sent to external market research APIs.

Third-Party Services We Use

ASO4Indie uses the following third-party services to provide market analysis:

1. OpenRouter (AI Processing)

We use OpenRouter to access Google’s Gemini AI models for analyzing your app ideas and providing market insights.

Data sent: Reformulated app idea descriptions and conversation context Purpose: AI-powered analysis, market insights, and recommendations

2. Google Gemini API

The AI models we use are powered by Google’s Gemini (accessed through OpenRouter).

Data sent: Processed queries and conversation context Purpose: Natural language understanding and market analysis

3. Firebase (Google Cloud)

We use Firebase Cloud Functions as our backend infrastructure to orchestrate API calls securely.

Data sent: API requests for market research Purpose: Secure backend processing and API orchestration

4. Apple iTunes Search API

We query Apple’s public App Store data to find competing apps and market information.

Data sent: Search keywords derived from your app idea Purpose: Competitor research, app ratings, pricing data

5. Google Custom Search API

We use Google’s search API to find market research information, industry reports, and relevant articles.

Data sent: Market research search queries Purpose: Finding market size data, trends, and industry information

6. Google Trends API

We query Google Trends to understand search demand and market interest patterns.

Data Security

Local Storage Security

Your data is stored in a local SQLite database on your device. This data benefits from:

Device-level encryption: iOS provides hardware-level encryption for app data
App sandboxing: Your data is isolated from other apps
No cloud backup of sensitive data: Analysis data stays on your device

API Communication Security

All API communications use HTTPS encryption
API keys are stored securely in Google Cloud Secret Manager (not in the app)
We do not store your data on external servers beyond what’s necessary for real-time processing

Your Rights and Choices

Before using ASO4Indie’s analysis features, you must grant consent for your app ideas to be processed by AI services. You can:

View your consent status in the Settings tab
Revoke consent at any time from the Settings tab
Continue using the app without AI features if you decline consent

Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:

Delete individual ideas from the Ranking tab
Delete conversation history from the History tab
Delete all app data by uninstalling the app

Data Export

Currently, ASO4Indie does offer a data export feature for the Ranking screen by exporting it as a CSV file.

Children’s Privacy

ASO4Indie is not directed at children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do:

We will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy
For significant changes, we will notify you through the app
Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy
